We hope our devoted efforts to bring you your year book will meet l with approval in the corridors of time. ' 2 . 'ri i ' 'ir' ' :rf ' Q-, f gc' rg, evkcafion We, the students, respectfully and with apprecia- tion dedicate this book to Miss Nelle Morgan. She has served diligently through the years for us and many other students. She has helped us with our problems, both large and small, and rejoiced in our achievements and wept for our failures. Her understanding and sympathy are ever directed towards our best welfare and school progress. Miss Morgan, a gracious lady, is still devoting herself through the corridors of time. 3 - new f 1- - X '40 ffZfQfJ f'-XYXQ BN sf' We QrqfQ'x-Mfr' sixty 7 z1'r.f,,L.g,sr1v-1.1.xwxx fzazm iexxx emoriam We want to honor the memory of the first San nurse graduate. Miss Ina Cockerron graduated alone in the class of 1912. She passed away at her home in Walnut Creek, California, in 1952. This means that for forty years of time, Miss Cockerron was a devoted professional nurse. As young students in the I.S.H. school we did not know, Miss Cockerton but everyone we talk to, who did know her, tells us she was a competent nurse and a very understanding Woman. We have another tradition of honor to protect with our present and future devotions. leuofion fdrouglt ide corrik om o fime SN ,--,Mau-N, ., .-N-wax Qi .-1 ' .X-f fit N I l - 1 14- 1 if I 2 5 :Ii i 4 fixll Q If 1 xl l il 4 5 l X , X E l .L l NX 15, 1 Z? fb! all l Ms 1 . 1 :JY I l ig . l 1 ., l Fig 9 QQ? f . l :li 1 M ga 1 n lvxsiw i! The following clipping is copied from the Independence Examiner, May 17, 1952: Nursing School Receives National Accreditation The School of Nursing of the Independence S-anitarium and Hos- pital has been granted temporary accreditation b y th e National Nursing Accrediting Service. The accreditation is for a period of five years. The national organization, which has had the program of accredita- tion for the past three years, cor- responds to the Northwest Central Association of colleges and high schools. The school of nursing has had state accreditation since its organ- ization, according to Miss Vida Butterworth, ,acting director of nurses, but this is the first time it has received the national recog- nition. The national standards are de- signed to help nursing schools im- prove their educational program in an effort to provide better nurs- ing care for patients. Students in the school will have a higher rat- ing in the event of entering school in another state for additional training. 42. , , .. At one end a good stage is almost completed which will be used for various activities, such as our famous Variety Show. On each side of the stage are dressing rooms. Seven microphones are to -be installed on the stage. Under the stage are hide-away carts that will take care of chairs and other equipment.
