Hers is the generous spirit, who when brought Among the real tasks of 'life hath wrought Upon the plan that pleased her youthful thought. Whose high endeavors are an INWARD LIGHT That makes the path before her always bright. Who with natural instinct to discem What knowledge can performiis diligent to learn. Abides by her resolve and stops not there But makes her moral being her prime care. Who agreed to go in company with Pain and Fear and Disease, miserable train! Turns her necessity to glorious gain In face of these doth exercise power Which is human nature's highest dower Controls them and subdues, transmures, bereaves Of theirpbad influence and their good receives By objects, which may force the soul to abate Her feeling, rendered more compassionate. - Is placable, because occasions arise, So often that demand sacrifice. V More skilled in self knowledge, even more pure As tempted moreg more able to endure As more exposed to suffering and distress Thence also, -more alive to tenderness. Shecomprehends her trust and to thesame Keeps faithful with singleness of aim. This is the happy muse, this is she That every girl in white should .wish to be. Happy Warrior we would like
