VARIATIONS UN A THEME! Independence Junior felt many changes take place this year. We lost many ninth graders due to the new Cox High and acquired extra seventh graders because of the elimination of seventh grade in the elementary schools. Boundary changes also transferred students here from Plaza Jr. and sent students to Great Neck Jr. The school board elected to apply the 30-day absence rule to seventh graders and provided guidelines for curriculum changes to accommodate new high school graduation requirements in math and science.
