TPLOTTING A COURSE V f 4 The Guidance Coun- selors help the students of UHS navigate a course through their junior high years. They help the students to establish a 5 year plan of study ap- propriate to each students future. The counselors also help the students on o per- sonalbosis, HHS is a good school. I have always been im- pressed with our en- thusiastic student body and teachers who care. lt's a lOl , or so says Mrs. Collier, A-EL Guidance Director. Born in Norfolls, Mrs. Collier obtained her BS. from Longwood College and her ME. from Old Domi- nion University. Shes been at IJHS since August, 1979. She taught Social Studies, History, and Geography at Kempsville Jr, before becoming a counselor. 4 These ladies help the students in the library. The library is an endless source of information and the cor- rect use of the library makes access to that information in- finitely easier. Mrs. Hannah, right, Head Librarian, feels the library offers a nice op- portunity to lsnow in- dividuals outside the classroom. This is her se- cond year at IJHS after teaching at P A, Jr, Albemarle County, VA, Belleville, Ml, and Bir- ingham, Ala. She was educated at Mary Washington and the Univer- sity of Michigan. Mrs, Rice, left, also in her third year at UHS received her degree from Northwestern Universi- ty. She taught previously at Williams Intermediate in Virginia Beach.
