This year, our first as a junior high, the school would like to honor the person most responsible for making our year so successful. As our Principal, her untiring energy and lasting patience has molded students into better citizens and scholars. Her most important contribution, however, is in leadership. She has served as an example for both faculty and staff members. Kindness, intelligence, dignity, service to others, strength, understanding, and devotion are just a few traits she has contri- buted in making Independence the best in Virginia Beach. Therefore, for her lasting contribution to our school, for her devotion to us, for her service to all in our school, we the staff of the 1974-75 DECLA- RATION dedicate this our yearbook, to Mrs. L.B. WATERS, our Principal.
