6. ,. i -v I 5 Y '. Gohwcaf. tfbww.. cffomsrofw -wr' R Jfro- .n V J' JJ' .3 L- -' Eff Qi xi-4 ffefzcafakt More than sixteen hundred students entered Indepen- dence Iunior High School for the first time in September. Under the leadership of an outstanding administration and faculty, enthusiastic students quickly established a tradi- tion in scholarship, arts, and athletics. The school year was spent looking forward. We seldom paused in our rush to gaze back and recall the special mo- ments too precious to be forgotten. The nicknaming of our school, the EAGLES, the excitement of our champion- ships, the fun and challenges of each passing day, the en- thusiasm of newly made friends - are carried as a lasting remainder of the joys of these junior high days that might otherwise have been lost. By turning the pages of the DECLARATION, we hope our statements of each happy moment is relived by those who roamed the halls of the red, white, and blue, and that it will illuminate in future years the path that lies ahead.
