Using the language lab to practice pronunciation, Sharon Potts lieftl, Warren Wood and Collette Martin Moore strive to conquer the French language, Mrs. Kolleen Overman, instructor, eavesdrops in the back to check their progress. One of the first modern language laboratories in the State of Kansas was installed at ICJC. Since that time, additional stations and hundreds of tapes have kept the equipment up to date. Spanish and French are both offered to college students. Students in Graphics 1 prepare themselves for careers in drafting or other engineering connected fields. This course is another of the practical arts taught here. Business management attracts a good many young men. Salesmanship, business machines, economics, business law, small business manage- ment, business correspondence, organization and administration. retailing and accounting are among the courses offered. 10 People interested in art, whether for fun, as interior decorators, or as a vocation, will find courses to Ht their needs at this college. Courses included are Intro- duction to Art, Design, Drawing, Painting, Water Color, Lettering and Layout, Introduction to Com- mercial Art among others. Women, wishing to take some ofthe courses in home making in preparation to be home demonstration a- gents or to take their places as home makers, may take courses in foods, meal planning and service, clothing, and marriage and family. Students interested in writing for publication may enroll injournalism courses and help in publishing the newspaper, The Buccaneer, or the literary magazine, Flair.
