RUNNING THE platem press requires much skill, finds Ted Harvey, a senior. College catalogs, brochures, report cards, stationery, office formes and many other items are printed in ICC's printing plant. Students are taught many skills including use of Iino- type machines, presses, handsetting of type for advertisments and other special copy and the use ofthe offset press. PREPARING A MASTER for the offset press, Charles Belt, who teaches printing courses and does the printing for the lndepencl- ence schools, is using some of the latest equipment in his plant. Printing Skills Prepare Students for Practical Jobs USING AGILITY and skill, Iinotype operator Gene Hamlin casts SETTING TYPE the hard way, by hand, are David Ward and Elden Wood, two b0dY WP9- printing students.
