Watching an amoeba travel about by use of its pseudopodia, trying to keep a paramecium in focus in spite of its speed, observing a microscopic animal moving about by use of its flagellum make the students realize the limitation of their knowl- edge. Not so pleasant is their work with worms, crayfish and frogs which have been pickled in formaldehyde, and a great deal of scrubbing is necessary to remove the odor from their hands.
