A co-ordinated but outscored Maroon and White team lost to Tipton--45-59. The aggressiveness of Vinton produced Independence's 'lth consecutive loss 56-66. This string was broken when the lndees outplayed Anamosa 52-47. Oelwein, Marion and Monticello repeated themselves with the respective scores 62-81, 44 66, 66-'78, The Mustan s victory over Maquoketa '76-64 was followed by wins over Decorah 64-57, Manchester 48-42 and Vinton 55-44. The qoss to Tipton by a score of 63-'76 ended the Independence season. Independence defeated Jesup in the sectionals and drew Oelwein in the district. J., The first three matches went to Independence as fol- 1 is lows: IHS 34-McKinley 11. IHS 24-Franklin 16. IHS 43-Maquoketa 8. TCHS captured the first victory over the Mustangs 25-16. The Indees outpointed Vinton 14-3 and lost to Osage 20-24. Roosevelt of Cedar Rapids humbled the Mustangs 31-6 and Wilson of Cedar Rapids was the Indee's revenge 27-9. The next lopsided score was in Davenport's favor as they beat Independence 33-'7. The second loss to TCHS 21-16, was followed by wins over Vinton 18-21, Maquoketa 22-8 and Jesup 38-5, In state tournaments Gordon Tull represented the Mustang grapplers. n 1 G
