H. S. as Anamosa was toppled by the Indees 13-7 on our homecoming, Hysteria followed when Independence downed Manchester 50-0, This happiness was drowned in the next three losses to Maquoketa 30-6, Marion 14-O and our arch-rival Oelwein 6-0. x lil' -J

The qoss to Tipton by a score of 63-'76 ended the Independence season. Independence defeated Jesup in the sectionals and drew Oelwein in the district.
