The Pirate cagers, exhibiting a burning competitive fire and keen teamwork that spelled trouble for enemy hoopsters, raced to fourteen victories against only seven defeats in regular season pla . Despite injuries to key pllayers, the hustling and high-spirited Buccanneers of Coach Bob Sneller were one of the highest scoring crews in lnde endence bas- ketball history. The Pirates averaged 74? points er game with their high-geared offensive style andy broke the 90-point barrier on four occasions. The fine 7-3 conference record of the Pirates earned them a tie for second lace in league competition. Coach Sneller callbed his team a group of fine young men who made the 1957-58 season a successful and memorable experience.
