' - 1' Greetings From the Board of Education It is with great pleasure that we, the Board of Education of the Independence schools, extend congratulations to each and every one on having achieved the goal for which you have been striving the past four years. It' has been your definite purpose to complete the course and that you have ac- complished. That aim is a strong, definite force in building your character. With Edwin Osgood Grover, I believe in boys and girls, the men and women of a great tomorrowg that whatsoever the boy soweth, the man shall reap. I believe in the curse of ignorance, in the- efficacy of schoo-ls, in the dignity of teaching, and the joy of serving another. I believe in the wisdom as reveale-d in human lives as well as in the pages of ap rinted bookg in lessons taught not so much by precept as by exampleg in ability to work with the hands as well as to think with the headg in. everythng that makes life large and lovely. I believe in beauty in the school room, in the home , in the daily life and out of doors. I be-lieve in laughing, in all ideals and distant hopes that lure us on. I believe that every hour of every day we receive a just reward for all we do, I believe in the present and its opportunities, in the future and its promises, and in the divine joy of living. We hope that each one of you has some worthy, definite aim in life and that you will pursue that aim with the same tenacity of spirit that has brought you to this hour.
