I INDOOR SOCCER BMX Although the month of Novem- ber did not have as large a variety of sports, the emphasis was more on the individual sports. Hand- ball has always been popular at Independence and it drew quite a crowd. The winners of handball were: lst - Ray Patterson 2nd - Bruce Walker 3rd - Kevin Dufer 4th - Mike Bench Badminton was a sport that didn't get as much recognition as it deserved. The winners of bad- minton were: ist- Paul Abad Znd- Paul Mata 3rd - Rich Mills 4th - Genardo Trias Table tennis really had quite a playoff for championship. The winners were: ist -Trou Thien 2nd-Quang Dangtran 3rd -Tri Bui 4th - Steve Washington This year the l.M. staff sponsored another fantastic BMX. JR.-SR. FOOTBALL BASKETBALL INDOOR SOCCER This month there were three organized team sports, and one individual sport. This may not sound like much, but it kept the LM. Staff very busy. These four sports: lr.-Sr. Football, 3-on-3 Bas- ketball, lndoor Soccer, and Bad- minton Singles, drew great sup- port and continued throughout the whole month. The winners of the Badminton singles, both representing Har- vard House, were: Frank Rodrigez David Bios These two worked their way up a ladder into first and second place, respectively. In lr.-Sr. Football the teams fought viciously for first pIace.The competition was hard and grueling, but well worth the results in the end. The ranking looked like this: lst place - 2nd place - 3rd place - Another sport that is very popular on the Independence campus is basketball. Although it- wasn't a full team 5 on 5, it still received much support. The winners were: 1 'lst place - 2nd place - 3rd place - These rankings were achieved by a process of elimination. The teams earned the positions they received and deserved. Indoor soccer received such a large response last month that the I.M. Staff continued through- out December. The teams not only competed against each other, but had a lot of fun in doing so. The winners of this sport were: 1st place- 2nd place- 3rd place- Thus ended one more month of successful activities for I.M. Decemneiz 'k'k'k'k l.M.Sports'December 229
