The 1978 team captured the Mount Hamilton Athletic League championship, the Region 3 title, and the Central Coast Section playoffs. The team is young but talented. The 76'ers figure to battle Piedmont Hills and Milpitas for this year's championship. The pitching staff will be headed by Lee Heffner and Joe Sinegal. Ernie Arranaga, Tony Perrovechio,Tony Webb and Steve Lucero will also see action on the mound throwing to catchers Les Rodrigues and Mike Villanueva. The infield consists primarily of last year's Frosh!Soph players. Gerald Ishimaru, Ron Alameda, Randy Cedano, John Aguilar, Scott Nicholson, and Fread Valdez will try to defense opposing teams. Keith Yamada, Payton Watkins, and Kevin Gant will be the team's last line of defense.
