They did not win the league championship, but they played like Cham- pions ! They showed the courage, talent and organization to be winners, but there was one main factor missing, Experience. The Frosh-Soph Team, consisting of almost all freshmen was led by Pat Dempsey, Barry Francis, Craig Norris and Goalie Mike Tom- lin. They ended their season with a 5-8 record and third place in their division. Defensive standouts were, Goalie Mike Tomlin and John Truppa. VVATEIQIDDLO The 1977-1978 Varsity Waterpolo Team was led by Seniors Mike Francis, Doug Moon and Richard Norris. Other starters were Tim Wolford, Mike Brock, Chris VanSIyke and John Takagi. Our best game was against Ayer, in which we won 19-7! As we continued to improve we began to destroy our opponents. Next year we will be the Winners! BASKETBALL This year the Varsity Basketball Team fin- ished the season with a 4-6 league record. This was good for 4th place in the M.H.A.L. Nonh Division. The Sixers finished the sea- son strong as they won 3 of their last five games, including the thrilling 43-42 win over the M.H.A.L. Northern League Cham- pion representative Overfelt. Even though the 7-14 season record was not impressive the Sixers stayed with it and defeated some of the strong teams in the C.C.S. Leading the way for this year's Varsity Team was Senior, Mike Menacho, first in scoring with 99 pts. in league play, and first in assists with 30 in league play. Also contributing to the scoring and the rebounding were Junior, Phil Stone, Senior Kereshawn Hardy and Senior, Albert Gallo. Other valuable players were Senior, Chris Yamashita, Junior Joe Burt and Ron Taylor. One of the best played games this year was against defending league champs Santa Theresa. Joe Burt led that game by scoring 23 pts. Coach Zimmermann 7 V. Basketball
