LJIXIIDCJ On November 29, Villa M was named and officially became EI Pueblo Unido. This important project was sponsored by the Villa M Student Advisory Coun- cil and represented many hours of study and hard work. Our Villa dedication committee developed three C35 priorities for our name: C11 That the name will honor the local history and culture of East San Jose, C23 That the name will reflect our feeling of Villa Unity and purpose and C35 That our Villa will receive recognition and support from the San Jose Bicentennial Commission. By honor- ing EI Pueblo de San Jose de Guadalupe we feel we have accomplished our goals. We are proud that the Pueblo represented the first civilian settlement in California, that it became our first state capitol and developed into an early edu- cational leader in the state of California.
