aptam Arthur Bud N. Langston, s a native of San Diego, California, ' graduated from San Dieglo State Uni- versity with a bachelor's egree in politica science in January, 1 68. Follow- ing graduation, he entered the Navy through the A Officers Candidate School at Naval Air Station Pensacola and was commissioned an Ensign on May 10, 1968. He was designated a Naval Aviator in Au ust 1969 upon completion of flight training at Naval Air aation Kingsville, Texas. Followinig A-6 fleet replacement training in VA 128, he reported to VA 115 in August 197 . During his first fleet tour with the Arabs , he completed two combat tours in Sout east Asia aboard USS MIDWAY QCV 415 where he flew 270 combat missions. In Atpril 1973, he was assigned to VA 128 as a fli ht instructor and landing signals of icer QLSOJ. In September 1975, he 'oined VE 52 and deployed to the Western Pacific aboard the USS KITTY I-IIAWK CCV 637. In February 1978, Captain Langston attended the Royal Air Force Staff Col- lege in Bracknell, England. He graduated with distinction from the Senior O ficer's Course in December 1978. After a tour in Washington, D.C., as a detailer for aviation officer sea assignments, he reported to the VA 95 Green Lizards as Operations Officer. His next assignment was with VA 128 where he was the Medium Attack Warfare Coordination and Executive Officer. In Iuly 1983, Captain Langston joined VA 145 and assumed command in December 1984. Following his squadron command tour, he served as Special Assistant to the Deputy Assis- tant Secretary of the Navgfor Tactical Programs. Reporting to CVW-11 as Sputy Commander in May 198 , he completed a estern Pacific! Indian Ocean deployment aboard USS ENTERPRISE QCVN 652 and participated as strike leader during operation Praying antis . During this opera- tion he conducted retaliatory strikes against the Iranian Navy April 18, 1988. From December 1988 to May 1991, Captain Langston served as Commandin Officer, Naval Strike Warfare Cen- ter, Fallon, hivada. At Strike U , he particgpated in the formulation of strike lans for Desert torm while workin for the Ioint IStaff and Commander, U.S. Central gommand. He also flew combat missions durin Desert Storm from both Red Sea and Persian Guqf based aircraft carriers. Catptain Langston has accumulated more than 5,000 ight hours andmore than 1,100 carrier landings in the A-6, F-14 and F X A-18. Captain Langston's personal decorations in- clude: the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross Qthree awardsl with Combat V , Meritori- ous Service Medal ftwo awardsl, Strike I Flight Air Medal Q16 awardsj, Nav Commendation Medal feight awardsl with comllnat V and various naval: an National Campaign awards. I' ' k I 1 4 C aptain Richard Alan Robbins, a native of Hot Springs, Arkansas, entered the United States Naval Academy in Iune 1965. He was commissioned and awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree on Iune 4, 1969. Following his commissioning, Captain Robbins served on USS RICH QDD 8201 and USS ALYWIN CFF 10811 as the commissioning Anti- Submarine Warfare Officer. His first shore duty was at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, where he was awarded a Master of Science De- gree in Operations Research in February 1975. Captain Robbins then served as Weapons Officer on USS BUCHANAN CDDG 141 prior to serving on the Chief of Naval Operations Staff QOP 131 as Head, En- listed Strength Plans Section. In 1981, Captain Robbins returned to the fleet as Executive Officer aboard USS ELLIOT CDD 9671. . ' - - me ' He remained at sea as Chief V Staff Officer, Destroyer Squadron -ff: Twenty-one before reporting to V the Chief of Naval Operations Staff in the Planning and Pro- gramming Division fOP 801. Captain Robbins then served as Commanding Officer, USS BOWEN CPF 10791. He returned for another tour on Chief of Naval Operations Staff COP 131 as Head, Enlisted Plans and Community Management Branch Director. Captain Robbins assumed duties as Commander Destroyer Squad- ron Fifteen in August 1991. Captain Robbins' personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service ' 1 Medal Cthree awards1, and the Navy Commendation Medal fone award1. In addition, he wears various campaign and service medals. He has deployed to the Western Pacific, Mediterranean Sea, Indian Ocean and Arabian Gulf. Captain Robbins is married to the former Vicki Lynne Noble of Castro Valley, California. They have three sons Richard Ir., Mark and Adam.
