.Ma i 'nog I 1 9 ., 1 5: 'W' 'QE C aptain Carter B. Refo graduated from the United States if -kj Naval Academy in 1965., He was designated a Naval if 3,3 ,k Q 5.0 Aviator in March 1967. Also in 1967, Captain Refo intro- ' duced the A-7A Corsair II into the Fleet. He made two combat deployments to Southeast Asia aboard USS AMERICA QCV 665 and USS CORAL SEA QCV 435. He is also a plank owner of Attack Squadron Eighty-two, VA 82. In a subsequent tour with VA 82, he served as Operations and Maintenance Officer. In 1971, Captain Refo graduated from the Naval Test Pilot School with Class 58. At sea, Captain Refo served as Commanding Officer, USS MILWAUKEE QAOR 25 and as Commander, Carrier Air Wing Six on USS INDEPENDENCE CCV 625 and USS FORRESTAL CCV 595. He commanded Attack Squadron Seventy-two, VA 72, as part of Carrier Air Wing One embarked aboard USS IOHN F. KENNEDY QCV 675. From 1982 to 1984, Captain Refo served as Air O erations Officer on Carrier Grou Six Staff. P P 3 ! fl T 1 5 Captain Refo's shore tours in- clude, Naval Plant Office Dallas,. ' Texas, Light Attack Wing Readiness Officer at Cecil Field, Florida, Airwing Training Officer, Com- mander, Naval Air Force, Atlantic, Ordnance Branch, Weapons System Test Division, Aircraft Carrier Pro- gram Branch Head, OPNAV Staff. On December 21, 1991, Captain Refo took command of USS INDE- PENDENCE QCV 625 in Yokosuka, japan. Captain Refo's personal decora- tions include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal Qthree awards5, Individual Air Medals ffifteen awards5, Navy Commenda- tion Medal fthree awards5 with Combat V and various campaign awards. Captain Refo and his wife, Paula, make their home in Yokosuka, japan. Captain and Mrs. Refo have two children. Their son, Carter, is a graduate of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, and their daughter, Elizabeth, actively competes with the United States Equestrian Team. 0 f

,. gl' ' 1 ' , . aptain Morrow was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio He graduated from the United States Naval Academ in 1964. Captain Morrow served aboard USS CROAKEK CSS 2641 as the Electrical Officerp USS COBBLER CSS- 3441 as Communications and Operations Officerp USS GATO CSSN 6151 as Weapons Officer and Main Propulsion Assistantp and USS SAM HOUSTON CSSBN 6091 QBLUE CREW1 as Engineering Officer. Captain Morrow then served on the staff of Commander-in-Chief, U.S. Atlantic eet as a member of the Nuclear Propulsion Examining Board from Iune 1975 to Selptember 1977. U on detachment he served as Executive Officer of USS PHILA ELPHIA QSSN 69311 from November 1977 to Iuly 1980. In January 1981, Captain Morrow assumed command of USS WHALE QSSN 6381. During his M -avi command the ship conducted T I numerous successful deployments and won the Battle Efficiency E . In March 1983, Captain Morrow rotated ashore to become Deput Commander for Readiness at Sub- marine S uadron Two in New London, Connecticut. In December 1983, he as- sumed command and was the first Commandin Officer of USS PROVIDENEE QSSN 7191, the first vertical launch Tomahawk subma- rine in the Fleet. ln October 1985, he assumed duties as the first Commanding Officer of Nuclear Field A School. After a tour as Commander, Submarine Squadron Y One, Captain Morrow reported to rf , the Office of Chief of Naval Opera- tions, Washington, D.C. as Deputy Director, Fast Attack Submarine Division. In September 1991, Captain Morrow assumed duties as Chief of Staff, Commander, Battle Force Seventh Fleet X Commander, Carrier Strike Force Seventh Fleet, Commander, Carrier Group Five. ' Ca tain Morrow's personal decorations include the Legion of Merit ftwo awards1, leleritorious Service Medal Qfour awards1, Navy Commendation Medal Cthree awards1, Navy Achievement Medal ftwo awards1 and various other campagn and unit awards. aptain Morrow is married to the former Rosemary Costello Propst of Grand Island, Nebraska. They have three children, LT Emil W. Morrow, SC, USN, Susan Elizabeth and Stephen Decatur.
