A On Halloween Shannon Sweeney fleftj meets Shannon Sweeney QMrs. Kautzj AP Semi-formal provides a great time for Christi Anciola and Christopher Baird to get a little closer. The Peanuts Gang, otherwise known as the Student Council of- ficers, worked dutifully to keep the entire school continuously inform- ed, interested, and involved. Shan- non Sweeney, President, Norma Ayala, Vice-president, Yvonne Queralt, Secretary, Marcela Trevino, Treasurerp and Gina Meza, Historian, with Mrs. Kautz and Mrs. Schmidtzinsky as their moderators, used Promote School Spirit as their all-year theme. That was exactly what they did. Barely a month went by without at least one major event occurring under their efficient organization. The Tuesday after school meeting was the normal time to get everyone together to discuss plans, programs, future events and activities.

The traditional Back-to-School was held in August with theme Twist and Shout. 'siting the West Side School on ecember 18 saw the entire Stu- nt Council bearing gifts. Again r Easter the high school and their ster school came together to share ve and j oy. Freshman Orientation, eacherfStudent Appreciation ays, and I.W. Day with free ice- eam were events just as impor- nt as semi-formal on Ianuary 10. Le Soir Enchante was held at Shrine Temple, despite reconstruction problems on , The Blood Drive on March 5 once again promoted the school spirit theme and helped others as well. The Texas Bloodbank was thankful for the numerous pints collected. Daily responsibilities, seldom considered as important, were ef- fectively carried out by this group's efficiency: announcements over the intercom every morning and after- noon, cafeteria watch mods 4, 8, 9, 10, 8: 11, monthly, timed fire drills, putting up and taking down the flag outside, and bulletin board decorations. They even run the class and Student Council elections and installations at the end of every year. . . . without his Sang 4A The executive officers open the year with their pink and white matching at- tire. A Sandra Faiias and Daniel Guerrero find no trouble getting into the swing of things at semi. 4 Gina Meza enjoys lunch with her new buddies from Westside Coalition.
