Most Reverend Bishop Leven, in his address at the opening of school, stressed the importance of maintaining scholastic records. participating in school functions, benefiting from the spiritual advantages offered, and of relaxing at the proper social activities. Rev. Raymond B. Fullam, S.I.. author of The Popes on Youth gave a talk on vocations. Approaching this subject in an unusual way, Father spoke about the in- fluence of woman in the modern world, and the importance of using rather than misusing this influence. During the first week in November we were privileged to have Miss Anne Culkin presenting her Charm Course A , . s one student expressed it, Miss Culkin's course was fascinating, and comparable to any retreat I have ever attended . The Mothers' Club, Cod bless them. helped to make Open House Day the great success that it was. 25

Boyle otficiated at the consecration oi the altar in our new chapel. Monsignor Boyle was assisted by Monsignor Alexander Wangler, editor ot THE ALAMO MESSENGER, and by Rev.
