!'fWU6'H!'5' Laudetur Verbum lncamatum The beautiful statue of the Boy Christ, under the title, THE IN- CARNATE WORD is a constant reminder that we should think and act as Christ would have us do. Our motto, LAUDETUR VERBUM INCARNATUM, is a thought, a prayer, a goal. With these words we begin our classes, we greet our teachers, we adorn our bulletin boards, we head our written assignments. They are inscribed on the facade of our buildings, on our stationery, on the very fibers of our hearts. When we depart from Incarnate Word, our motto will be a tie to hold us fast to our ideals, to bind us to our teachers and to one another. May We always remember when we use these Words that we are praising, adoring and loving our God. May our hearts and thoughts be ever in accord with the beautiful words of our motto: PRAISED BE THE INCARNATE WORD FOREVER. AMEN. Donna Young Linda Schenk

fe Remember. .. fe Pender. .. fe ieeffee If we seem unduly elated over our Class Ring, it is only because of all the meaning it holds for us. Distinctly designed to symbolize the ideals and traditions of IN- CARNATE WORD HIGH SCHOOL, our ring is a reminder of our precious heritage, a booster of our Faith, Hope and Charity. Our ring depicts the torch of Knowledge and the shield of virtue. The glowing ruby is a symbol of Charity and Fortitude. The Holy Name of Iesus, surmounted by the Cross, and surrounded by the thorns and nails, as well as the Heart inscribed with the words, Amor Meus all remind us of our Blessed Savior's love for us, and oi our allegiance to Him. The Fleur de-lis commemorates the brave sisters who many years ago left their homes in France to found Incarnate Word in our country. And lastly there is the star, symbol of many things, but es- pecially of our own great state, Texas. To us, therefore, our ring is not just another gold band with a pretty design. It is a symbol of all that we have learned, all that we love, all that we shall take with us when we leave Incarnate Word. It is something to be treasured. Imelda Arcos Mary Ann Saldana is- '-as Class Rings are blessed before distribution on Ring Day. Rev. Lawrence I. Stuebben blesses them in the presence of the assembled student body. For us who wear them they have the character ot a sacramental. 41 W-..
