The most distinguished society of Bellefontaine is the Father Francis X. Hudson chapter of the National Honor Society. Officially founded in 1969, this society inducts new members each year. Induction into this society requires excelling performance in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. A student is eligible for mem- bership in this organization at the completion of his sophomore year at which time he may be inducted on probation. Any student inducted during his junior or senior year becomes a permanent member of. this society. The Honor Society tries to stress the values for which it stands to all students at Bellefontaine and encourages them. to strive for membership or at least to pursue the values which it upholds.
