Finally when in The Providence oT God The Church had grown To iTs Tull sTaTure and began iTs public liTe as l-ler Son began l-lis when l-le leTT The maTernal home aT NazareTh, Mary was called To her reward. l-ler Divine Son had l-lis CruciTixion and l-lis ResurrecTion and Then l-lis Ascension. Mary had her cruciTixion as The sword oT sorrow pierced her hearT on Calvary. BuT she was now To have The counTerparT oT l-lis Ascension - and ThaT was her AssumpTion inTo l-Teaven. In ThaT sTaTe oT glory Tor which we labor here below, ChrisT The l-lead oT The MysTical Body lives To inTercede Tor us beTore The l-leavenly l:aTher. AssociaTed wiTh l-lim in glory, as she had been associaTed wiTh l-lim in l-lis earThly pilgrimage, is l-lis MoTher, The Queen oT Angels and SainTs. inseparably uniTed aT The Cross when The reservoirs oT RedernpTion were Tilled, They are now inseparably uniTed in heaven as Those same rneriTs are poured ouT upon all who believe in l-lirn as BroTher, in her as MoTher, and in God as FaTher. ChrisT is The Redeemer, Mary The co-RedernpTrix. ChrisT is The l-lead oT The Church, Mary The channel Therein oT ChrisT's graces. And Thus do we say To her: Lovely Lady dressed in blue Teach me how To pray! God was iusT your liTTle Boy Tell me whaT To say. Did you liTT l-lirn up son'ieTimes GenTly, on your knee? Did you sing To l-lim The way MoTher does To me? Did you hold l-lis hand aT nighT? Did you ever Try Telling sTories oT The world? Q! And did l-le cry? Do you Think l-Te cares IT l Tell l-lim Things? LiTTle Things ThaT happen? And do The angels' wings Make a noise? Can l-le hear me if l speak low? Does l-le undersTand me now? Tell me, Tor you know. Lovely Lady dressed in blue Teach rne how To prayl God was iusT your liTTle Boy And you know The wayl Poem by Mary Dixon Tlmym-

Dear Echo STaTT: I am enclosing herewiTh a shorT message on The Blessed MoTher Tor your yearbook The Echo . I would be graTeTuI To have a copy when iT is compIeTed if you would be so kind as To Torward one To me. Wishing you every success and wiTh kindesT regards and blessings, I am Sincerely in ChrisT, RT. Rev. Ivlsgr. EuITon J. Sheen MARY, OUR IVIQTI-TER Ten days aTTer The Ascension we Tind The AposTIes persevering wiTh one mind in prayer wiTh Ivlary The IvIoTher oT Jesus , awaiTing The descenT oT The I-Ioly SpiriT. The SpiriT had descended upon her aT IXIazareTh To make her The IVIoTher oT Jesus: now I-Ie descends upon The AposTIes To make Them I-Iis New Body and her The MoTher oT ThaT Body. Virgin in The Tlesh she broughT TorTh her TirsT-born, ChrisT, virgin by The puriTy oT her TaiTh she brings TorTh her oTher-born, The Church-and in boTh insTances iT is The I-Ioly SpiriT which renders her Tecund. Such was Gods reason Tor leaving The Blessed IVIoTher on oarTh Tor a Time aTTer I-Ier Son had ascended inTo I-Ieaven. Called To The sublime vocaTion oT being The IVIoTher oT ChrisT in I-Iis RedempTive work, iT was her duTy noT only To cradle The I-lead oT The Church in BeThlehem, buf also To cradle The Body in Jerusalem. The MysTicaI Body oT PenTecosT, like The physical body oT BeThlehem, was small and delicaTe and Trail, like any new- born Thing. ITs members were small, iTs organs were in The process oT TormaTion, and Though liTe was There iT was yeT To grow in age and grace and wisdom beTore God and men . BuT ThaT growTh and developmenT could noT be wiThouT The menace oT haTred and persecuTiong Tor new I-Ierods would arise To aTTack The Church as The oTher I-'Ierod had aTTacked iTs I-lead. IT was necessary, ThereTore, ThaT The IVloTher oT The inTanT IVIysTicaI ChrisT be There To besTow her loving care on iT as ThirTy-Three years beTore she had waTched over The inTanT ChrisT. Every inTanT needs a moTher's care - even an inTanT Church. The mysTery oT Jesus did noT begin wiThouT her, neiTher would iT Tinish wiThouT her. Cur Blessed Lord had kepT I-Iis promise. I-Ie did noT leave us orphans. I-Ie gave us I-Iis EaTher as Our EaTher, I-Iis SpiriT as Qur SpiriT, and I-Iis IVIoTher as Qui' MoTher. INIoT only was iT TiTTing ThaT Ivlary be presenT as IVloTher aT The birTh oT The MysTicaI ChrisT, iT was also TiTTing ThaT she be presenT as Queen oT The PxposTIes on The solemn day when The Church began preaching The Gospel To The world. IT was ThereTore in keeping wiTh her vocaTion ThaT she be wiTh The AposTIes on I3enTecosT To make known The IvIysTicaI ChrisT To The world, as she had made known The Physical ChrisT To shepherds and kings. PenTecosT was IVIary's spiriTuaI BeThlehem, her new Epiphany in which, as IvIoTher, sTanding by The crib oT The MysTic ChrisT, she makes I-lim known once again To oTher shepherds and oTher kings.
