AdminisTroTion The sporTs in our high school serve as a common poinT of inTeresT for faculfy and sTudenTs. Engaged direcTly or in- direcTly in a common efforf, They pursue iT wiTh a sense of pride of accomplishmenT. Had noT our archbishop and bishop given Their ap- proval and sancTion To The leagues and TournamenTs in which we parTicipaTe, we could noT enjoy These experiences. Monsignor, direcfor of our school, has been wiTh us all The way in our aThleTic endeavors. His unobTrusive presence aT fooTball and baslceTball games has made us lcnow ThaT he is one of our sTaunchesT supporTers. All our priesTs have encouraged us and gladdened us by Their pride in us: however, FaTher Sheehan, our AThleTic DirecTor, is in a class by himself. His early morning appear- ance on The alTar in Gofrhic chasuble, offering Our Lord To His ETernal FaTher in our behalf, and Then his afTernoon lchalcirand-sweaTer-garbed arrival aT The field To puT The freshman Team Through iTs paces have noT seemed incon- gruous To us. AT bofh Times FaTher has belonged To us, buf in differenT ways. His fine sense of iusTice, his insisTence on whaT is righT-yes, and his sense of humor-proceed, we know, from his priesflinessg and we have Thanlced God for our associafion wiTh him. Exiles from The fooTball games, buT eager reviewers of The moTorcade reTurning vicTorious from The field To COT- Tage Place on Fall Sunday afTernoons have been our Twelve SisTers of ChariTy, who have been lisTening expecTanTly for The honlcing of horns announcing our imminenT arrival. They, along wiTh our secular Teachers, have sTood by wiTh pride as we made Touchdowns and field goals and baslceTs.
