Rosita, presently Mother-General of the Congregation of St. Agnes, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, formerly our principal at Immaculate Conception High School here in Elmhurst. We dedicate it likewise to Sister M. Carmel, our de- voted principal, and her loyal co-workers, members of our faculty today. Finally and pre-eminently, we dedicate it to St. Agnes, the glorious patroness of the Community which proudly bears her name, and to the Sisters, one and all, who as loyal members of the Community of St. Agnes are rejoicing in the celebration of their centennial year. May their lovely patroness continue to intercede for them, that the flame of her love for Christ may ever burn brightly in their hearts, radiating Warmth and holy love in the hearts of the young under their care. We congratulate the Sisters and desire in a very special Way to express the appreciation of Catholic Elmhurst for the many years of faithful service, generously and lovingly rendered to the vast numbers of youth, educated and trained in our school here at Immaculate Conception. This is in keeping with the theme of our annual- True Progress. 5 .S?i5iQI :5 of 52. .!4gI'lQ5-'.g6LClfiAg of .9I'l'll'l'lCLClfL aff 11515 Wit Just before dinner is served dur- ing the memorable holidays of their centennial year in the comfortable and beautiful dining room of the convent at Elmhurst, Sisters are waiting for dinner. Sister Guistina, the competent little cook, carves the ham which the junior Sisters will serve in just a moment. 6 if 3 ,fb A52 ,mmm M M . Her helpfulness and understanding of youth have made her each student's companion. Always the source of sound advice, Sister Carmel has guided many a one before us on his path to a successful and happy future. Never has she failed to support every phase of school activity to her fullest measure. We of Immaculate Conception are the fortunate ones to be the recip- ients of the seemingly boundless energy of this noble, religious woman. 11 Father Dopak Father White Father Hegarty lfI'LI'l'lCLClfL!6Lf0 60l'lCe,0fi0l'l MOU! CM of 359 When our Senior Year finally comes to an end it is with a heart-felt regret and sincere appreciation to all our instructors that we must bid a final adieu to our Alma Mater. We too. can visualize the goal before us and the task that lies ahead, and are grateful for our education, realizing that if We are to progress, it is a key factor. We hope and pray that Our Divine Lord will strengthen us against temptation and protect us from our foes wherever and whatever they may be, and give us the nec- essary means to attain our end, our ultimate end, heaven. 16 WILLIAM L. Of all the sports at Immaculate Conception football probably offers the most color, and it is with deep appreciation that We humbly extend our thanks to Monsignor Plunkett and the entire coaching staff for their outstanding work in this field. 127 W , ,NN + ' X Ns I K wiv: . The Knights have seen a lot of action in the past season and have run into some pretty stiff competition but usually have managed to come out on top. Due to the fine coaching ability of Mr. Strassei' our basketball team has reached a prominent position in the athletic field. Yanz lays it up in tussel with Notre Dame on home court. Denny Neubauer tries a jump shot in same game. Neubauer at it again! Oops! he blocked that one. Throughout the football and basketball seasons of the current year, these girls have managed to instill a stronger sense of school spirit into the hearts of the students at I.C. They have backed the teams through thick and thin. The ability and spirit of the boys in- volved can be shown by the numerous victories which they managed to turn out. Being such a small team, the track boys and their capable coach, M1'. Although a few injuries have occurred, the track team has certainly been able to continue along their road to success Without any serious setback. Congratulations, boys! Not to be minimized, however, is the excellent capabilities of all the team members in this sport. This activity, like all others at I. C., deserves the continued support of all the students, if it is to be a real winner. 138 we girioud fpuzfiingfon rqo The high point of the year for the Seniors was the annual trip to Washington, D.C. A thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all of the fifty-two students and live chaperons who participated. Our fond memories began on the train ride down, and were not con- cluded until we arrived at Union Station in Chicago on the return leg of our journey. Who can ever forget the boat ride down the Chesapeake Bay, or the first day in Washington when everyone was really tired, but happy? The wonderful co-opera- tion of the chaperons and our rep- resentative from the railroad will never be forgotten.
