Ll? 21442 We, the class of 1944, have chosen as the theme for our yearbook, the tree. The tree symbolizes for us the road of life. As we travel along we will find that in all things, no matter what we undertake, we begin as the acorn and gradually work ourselves up until finally we emerge as the tree, powerful and mighty. So it was in school. Each year we grew a little more acquiring added nourishment, as we went along, from our roots, the faculty. just as the branches of the tree provide the beauty of the tree, our branches, activities which have been many and varied, provide the relaxation and amusement. Later we will find opportunity to travel another road and when we do we trust that we will have the courage and the fortitude to grow and continue to grow as the tree, until one day we will reach the peak of the tree of life. If we imitate the living quality in the tree and forever keep our determination alive, we will find ourselves well established on the road of life and our ambition will one day be satisfied. And so, with the tree as our symbol, we step out into the world with our branches eagerly outstretched to God. 5
