Underclassmen Awards Recipients of certificates in the Ohio Tests of Scholastic Achievement final program are: Dick Brandewie - General Science, 8th in District, 14th in State; Kathy Mescher - German II, 2nd in District regardless of class, 2nd in State and Dan Hawk - Elementary Algebra, 5th in District, 15th in State. The following Latin students received a certificate and the emblem of the APSL National Latin Honor Society for maintaining a 90% average or better for the school year. They are; Carla Deitsch - Latin III; Mary Flohre, Margie Mahle and Joan Kleinhenz - Latin III. Receiving certificates for the hard work done on their science projects are; Gregg Temple - Good; Gayla Wilsom - Excellent; Mary Flohre - Superior; Joe Harting - Good and Mr. Robert Da Prato - Teacher. Entertaining the crowd who attended Fr. Bricher's parish farewell reception are the Freshman guitar players and singers. Standing are; Lorie Kramer, Becky Fiely and Marlene Kessler. Seated are: Beth Cook, Karen Beutel and Sue MacDonald. A surprise visitor at the reception held in Fr. Bri- cher's honor was Fr. Lou Osterhaze who congrat- ulated him on his great honor. In appreciation for the years of service given to the I. C. Parish Fr. Bricher is presented with a gift from the people of the Parish by Mr. Bernard Moore. 51

Receiving a superior rating from the judges at Celina Senior H. S. is Mary Flohre's project, THE GATEWAY TO SIGHT: THE EYE. Later, she also received a superior rating at Wil- berforce, which entitled her to go to the State Science Fair in Columbus. There Mary received an excellent rating, lacking just one point for a superior rating. Perfect attendance certificates are awarded to Freshmen: Joan Heckler, Eileen Braun, Randal Burris, Tom Sanders, Steve Sommer and Mike Wagner. Happy with their perfect attendance awards are Juniors: Doris Johnsman, Diane Shearer, Julie Vander Horst and Carol Stukenborg. In gratitude and recognition for her services as teacher and yearbook advisor at I.e., Sr. Benedicta receives a plaque from Mr. Rieman, Principal. Presenting a plaque of gratitude from Spanish and Latin students to Sr. Benedicta are: Jayne Laux and Mary Flohre. 53
