V-V .Jn L2 l'lON'T- I- an GTIIOT ETl'llTllSC8TlC8S.f5 HE PRINFIPALS VVORDS were un rnrstakable At noon the Freshmen are requested to meet rn the lrbrary for class electrons Blankly we looked at one an other Class oflicersq Our class'l Then we weren t Just a straggly disorganized bunch of scared youngsters after all but 1 distinct factor rn the school a coming povu er a class' Slowly this real rzatron swept over our dried young mxnds bring ing wlth It a curious sensation of lmportance new er before experienced Proudly we rose to our feet cl eeks Hushed heads hrgh and marched strffly through the Study Hall door A class' Days passed quickly and 28 settled down into the everyday routine of school life With the and prquant interest rn the w orld of achrex enient Wholeheartedlv wc threw ourselxes into the sprrrt of preparation working trll our muscles ached and parned and every trred lrttle body cried out rn distress And then came our first game' Grrmly we fought and struggled against the kind but unyreldrng Junrors who had so help fullv coached and primed us Of course we lost that game and all the rest but with the loss came a new assurance a confidence rn school sportsmanship and an admiration that amounted almost to adoration for the glorious vrctorlous Tumors Perhaps the most important event of that year to us at least was the St Patrick s Day Party As Freshmen we knew almost nothrng about enter taining an entire school Of course we realized the necessity of eats and dancing but aside from that our ignorance was profound So we began our preparations about a week before the day agreed upon planned a lunch draped a few straggly green streamers ox er the baskets rn the gym and declared ourselves ready to recerxe YVhy thought we the thmg rs a snap What s all the fuss about It must be admltted that the partx was meagre but for all our IUGXIJBTICDCC an atmosphere of Jox ous festnrty perxaded the room and set our evcrted lrttlc hearts abuzz with happiness In September of 25 a sophrstrcated self satisfied class of Sophs began the actrvrtres of the year hrlarrously vrewrng the obxrous xerdure of 26 New ertheless we felt a drstrnct sy mpathy and affectron for the younger class and moved by magnanrmous sprrrt we planned and gaxe a Baby Party rn their honor Later in a srncere effort to mutate our beloved Seniors we practised long and hard ln the hope of a successful basketball season But somehow a cog sllpped and ex en the Freshmen defeated us Therc were tears and heartaches that night but the immense succes unanimously accorded our Valentine Putx 1 fuw memorv of defeat June brought the graduation of our cherished Sister Class The memory of that night is now only a vague haze of the whrtc gowned Senrors roses crowds and a typical sum mer breeze but rt br ought with rt a xrsron of th rt roseate day when we too would be graduating from the dear old Mount Our Junror year was filled wrth unusual happr ness for success marked every venture of thc class of 28 Our precious colors festooned every basketball poster save the final one and that game was lost by only a single point In addrtron we acquired a clever helpful little sister class that steadily pushed its way into our hearts tlll rt held a place no other class could fill With May trme came the crowning event of the vear the Junior Senior banquet A veritable Iarryland sprang up that nrght and the old gym looked down upon a mrstx moonlit rose garden that caught and held the echo of dancrng feet the throb of vrolrns and the gay laughter of the tvso classes so closely bound together The banquet ox er we heaved a srgh of relief Our work was done and credltablv done and we gave ourselves Joyfully to the enjoyment of Class Dav Bacca laureate Sunday Hay Dav and all the other en chanting festnrtres peculrar to graduatlon lax, xuntx e en , V . ,AN c v f- f s t s . we ' c T and f f' . -' ' v v , - ' ' 1 .
