On November 27, a short play, Le Medecin was presented by Le Circle Francaise, under the direc- tion of Miss Lydia Castineira. Pre- vious to this presentation, a Queen was elected to commemorate the feast of St. Catherine, the patron saint of single girls in France. Le Circle Francaise also hosted a tea on Charlemagne's Day, Jan- uary 28, and sponsored a fashion show given in March. Slides of France capture the attention of Miss Castineira's audience. Promote Good-Will Girls take a closer look at dolls made in France Reading in French is easy for these French Club members. 45

Rehearsing for the big day. League Captures Honors Orators spend countless hours in Library preparing speeches. The Forensic League achieved two dis- tinctive honors this year: it won the Fo- rensic League Debating Trophy on De- cember 19, and played host to schools from Dade and Broward Counties at the Catholic Forensic League Tournament in the Immaculata-La Salle cafetorium. Un- der its moderator, Mrs. Consuelo Phelan, the Forensic League entered many other tournaments, including debate, dramatic interpretation, and extemporaneous speak- ing. Members also sold Cokes after school to raise funds for the club's treasury. 47
