Freshmen try to develc a sense of perspective by participating in di cussions and projects with the John Fitzgeral Kennedy International Relations Forum, moi erated by Mr. William Reinke. For upperclassmen interested in entering tl field of political science or increasing unde standing of current events, the means is foun in the Spirit of ,76 History Club directed li Mr. Raul Comesanas. Here society's con mentators learn the value of profiting by tl Y. 1 Catherine Rascher, and Secretary William Burke represents the Spirit of '76, country's past mistakes. President Richard Murray calls for a conference with Secretary Elaine Welle, Vice President Jeffrey Brown, and Treasurer Margaret Sopko. Home Economics Club Training gained in home economics class is practically applied to projects for the club. Here upperclassmen devote time to everything from trimming a peasant dress for the SOUND OF MU- SIC to discussing problems of marriage. These enterprising juniors and seniors designed and made saleable articles such as crepe paper flowers to be sold to students at the corner of Room 206 decorated as a modern boutique. Seamstress Elizabeth Robinson adds a final touch to an appeal- ing l?J and original creation mod- eled by Barbara Stafford.

Officers Judith Fidellow, Claudia Scully, Andrea Alicino, and Marianne Wysocki learn to operate the ditto machine in the faculty lounge. Future Teachers of America Future Teachers of America, a nation-wide organi- zation, was formed to help and encourage students plan- ning to enter the field of education. In October, mem- bers of this branch met with fellow aspirants at the an- nual convention of F.T.A.'s in the area held this year at Immaculata. Ideas discussed at the meetings are util- ized by future teachers and their moderator, Mr. Raul Comesanas, in programs including work with the under- privileged and after-school tutoring. l l Carol Kolb approaches Claudia Scully with a question on voting for county officers. Future Secretaries To accommodate the increasing number of students becoming interested in commercial courses for use in modern business, a new club was initiated this year. Growing out of the girls' desire for relevant material, the Future Secretaries Association provides ample op- portunity for an exchange of views. Upperclassmen meet and discuss articles to be found in TODAY'S SECRETARY, a contemporary magazine dealing with employment opportunities and on-the-job tips. Barbara Taluba, Juaith Blazek, Mary Kemper, Maureen Brady, Nancy Dunsavage, and Margaret Brucia concentrate on the maintenance and operation of typewriters.

Languages Interested Latin students become in- volved in related activity under the direc- tion of Sister Loretta Margaret, I.H.M. Observers of ancient culture stage their annual Roman Banquet in early May. Members of the Spanish Club found an invaluable opportunity for cultural enrich- ment during a ten-day educational tour of Spain. Las turistas, including Sister Helen Marita, I.H.M., and Sister Maureen Therese, I.H.M., left on March 25 for a circuit of Madrid, Seville, Granada, and other historic cities. Junior and seniors in French Corre- spondence exchange letters and ideas with teens from French-speaking countries in their native tongue. Mrs. Gilberte Gurdal, Sister Mary Loreto, I.H.M., and les americains share insight as well as knowl- edge by discussion of treasured mail. lil-EAXVIZ ., 1, Officers of the French Club, Jennifer Mellin, Judith MacMillan, Regina Wurst, Claudia Scully, Patrick Kearney, and Martha O'Brien chat in their second language.
