Concert Band When the football season ends and the last white buck and trailing plume disap- pear from Room 58, the versatile Music Department turns its attention to May. The Sixth Annual Spring Musicale is un- der rigorous preparation by the musicians as early as November. For months the Concert Band works on arrangements varying from the lively King Cotton to the romantic strains of 6'The Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet. The final re- ward after hours of practice arrives at the end of the year when instrumentalists don formal clothes, offering to art devotees the results of their efforts. During the academic year, the Concert Band is always available to provide music ' for assemblies and any events on thc school calendar. Due to the unremitting energy of Sister Ann Bernadette, I.H.M., and her new assistant, Mr. John Di Gio- vanni, the players are ready to perform whenever the occasion arises. Sister has watched the group grow over the past five years from thirty-two members to the pres- r ent seventy-two. George Jankowski adroitly conducts Glee Club through an intricate passage of Americana during the Spring Concert.

Many hours are spent after school and during free time to make such resources available to fellow students. Everything from categorizing and shelving books to designing display cases falls to the lot of these willing work- ers. For the first time this year volunteer parents help with clerical work. With such assistance, the fifty student aides and mod- erator, Sister Angelorum Maria, I.H.M., provide Immaculatans with fine facilities not only in content but in appearance and convenience as Well.
