Speedy Pierce Frauenheim passes successfully despite close guarding by Joe Hoey. Raul the Rocket Comesanas tickles the twine from 35 feet to the amazement of Showboat George Sigle. Leapin' Larry, Bowie, Speedy, and Dunkin' Dick display high hopes after a promising first quarter, F acult - Varsity ame 6'Try again next year, echoed from the stands as the bumbling 'gHas-Beens were dumped for the second year in a row by the fabulous Varsity, 61-58, in the annual game. Thrilling the crowd, the worn-out teachers showed their skill, managing to throw away a seven point lead in the waning moments. However, the 'former Hwhiz kids showed promise for future games sparked by the wretched rebounding of the fleet- footed flash, Raul Comesanas, and the erratic shooting of Joe The Pole Poplowski. Gentleman Joe Poplowski tries to outmaneuver Joe Pellicane for all important basket in the fourth quarter. X

E. Waiting for their cue, Up With People consent to pose be- fore opening number. Young Christians Association To execute the principle of service to men as a duty of every Christian, Immaculatans band to- gether in a newly-organized group called the Young Christians Association. Since the school exists as a world in itself and yet an important part of a larger society, her students play an active role in community life. Club functions center around work with the aged, the mentally retarded, and orphans. In working for others we find unity, and partici- pants in this activity maintain a coordinated pro- gram as a result of meetings and folk Masses'for members and friends. Sister Maureen Therese, I.H.M., and Sister Edward Marie, I.H.M., moti- vate one of the largest groups in the school. l Up with People In celebration of Somerville's sixtieth anniver- sary, the Bell Telephone Company brought Brook- lyn's Sing Out Up With People! to Immaculata Gymnasium for a performance. Student Council- lors made the necessary arrangements and acted in cooperation with Somerville High School legis- lative body as ushers. This New York group brought with them a spirit of optimistic brotherhood that brightened every number. Selections ranged from What Color is God's Skinv and Freedom Isnit Free to the rousing Up With People. The Honorable George H. Shay, Mayor of Somerville, concluded the aftemoon with a few appropriate remarks on the value of the teens' apostolate, Guitarists Melaine Bieros, Katherine Dahms, and Margaret McCaughey have an informal rehearsal with Young Christians Club officers, Robert Dubrowski, Nancy Logel, John Huddleston, and Kathleen Rork in preparation for the evening Folk Mass of Thanksgiving. Discussing the Christmas trip to St. Michaefs Home brings up many controversial statements concerning the type of presents Santa will bear.
