Mission Representatives For Immaculatans to be solicitous about those less fortunate than they is not enough. It has been the policy of the school to elect mission representatives who keep the plight of the poor before their fellows. To these workers monetary support is not sufficient-it must be min- gled with genuine concern. Their efforts, in weekly collections and compiling of stamps, go toward ameliorating the con- ditions under which brother human beings eke out an existence. The plenitude in this country allows students to forget othersg this tendency is what the club members combat through their encourage- ment and example. Combined efforts produce successful projects when juniors and seniors Patricia Ferguson, Stephanie Smedley, Kathleen Pachomski, Annmarie Dowd, Mary Kemper, fbottomj Laura Zack, and Claudia Scully join forces. Freshman Representatives Timothy Duffy, Dale Florio, Thomas Randall, and Deborah Munyer insist their relentless labors exceed those of upperclassmen. ff' W ,--- ., ..,, .-.....,-........,.,,,.,W K, Y Relaxing before a general meeting opens, sophomores Margaret Miller, Anne Marie Ivers, George Sabosik, fseatedl Richard Walsh, and Barbara Gissoni exchange their intended motions. ABSENT: Deborah Baxter. Chapel Aides Immaculatans take pride in the chapel, a refuge of every student from the cares of life. In order to keep it always ready for visitors, girls from the school under the direction of Sister Ann Bernadette, I.H.M., devote time to practical chores before Bible vigils, exposition on First Friday, and occasions when it is used as a parish chapel. Like every other room in the building, this one has to be main- tained, and the volunteers contribute their efforts willingly toward its beautification. Michelle Garay and Dorianne Kabo cheerfully perform their weekly chores.

Young Christians Association To execute the principle of service to men as a duty of every Christian, Immaculatans band to- gether in a newly-organized group called the Young Christians Association. Since the school exists as a world in itself and yet an important part of a larger society, her students play an active role in community life. Club functions center around work with the aged, the mentally retarded, and orphans. In working for others we find unity, and partici- pants in this activity maintain a coordinated pro- gram as a result of meetings and folk Masses'for members and friends. Sister Maureen Therese, I.H.M., and Sister Edward Marie, I.H.M., moti- vate one of the largest groups in the school. l Up with People In celebration of Somerville's sixtieth anniver- sary, the Bell Telephone Company brought Brook- lyn's Sing Out Up With People! to Immaculata Gymnasium for a performance.
