Immaculata Da A first and a heart-warming one at that, Immaculata Day managed to shat- ter all the connotations of the word initi- ation. The upperclassmen, fun-loving enough to laugh with the freshmen, but Immaculatan enough not to laugh at them, portrayed the freshmen themselves in the roles of Charlie Brown and his gang. The freshmen laughed the heartiest as Charlie Brown delivered such lines as Homework is the crabgrass on the lawn of life! Brotherhood, the theme of the folk song sung by Kathleen Power, could not have been more appropriate. Unitas- Caritas, the ideal of Immaculata, shone through every effort of the student body. Schroeder tMichael Kaboj, Linus QCharles Byrdj, Freeda QDonna Paternosterj, Violet Uean McCormickJ, and Mary Ann Lasko, under the guidance of Lucy CPatricia Rascherj congregated in the hope of solving Charlie Brown's inferiority complex. Lucy and Schroeder pointed out one of the more impressive sights at Immaculata-its talented Marching Band. 4 For the first time in the history of the school, the Varsity vs. the Faculty 'fHas- Beensw provided a hilarious spectacle for the student body. The faculty outfitted in makeshift basketball uniforms, looked like physical fitness dropouts, but their poten- tial was yet to be realized. The score see- sawed as the abler members of the Has- Beens outdid themselves in an effort to make up for their 'fstouter teammates. The Varsity, with absolutely no help from the referees, managed to stay on top while giving the faculty every possi- ble break. With a four point lead and only a few seconds remaining, the spryer athletes surrendered the ball to their op- ponents, and just as time ran out, the score became two points closer because of a beautiful layup by 'fBill Boom- Boom Reinke.
