Student Council Character seemed to be this yearas slogan in the Student Council Election Campaign. That mysterious, intangible quality that pervaded each candidate, reached out and touched everyone. The Student Council, under the direction of Sister Miriam Clare, I.H.M., and Mr. Philip Chalupa, sponsored the annual Christmas Dance. The Senior Ball, given by the senior members, added a new dimension to the social life at lmmaculata. A representa- tive group such as this provided a model for other students and a spring-board for themselves to rise to the heights of ex- cellence and merit. Treasurer Gregory Aloia, Sergeant at Arms Walter Hart, President Bernard Duffy, Secreta Eileen Cahill and Vice-President James Mahoney found falling leaves and the serenity oft season an ideal place for discussing their trip to the Poconos. Senior Councilmen Ronald Eckert, William Mclntyre, Edward Scully, and James MacDonald looked for prospective customers for the annual car wash. Representatives Jean Grainda, Mau- reen St, Onge, Vincent Bruns, John Meehan, and Patricia Lane tried to take a sneak preview of the rings before the ceremony.
