Student Council Members Hope Loefiier, Carol Kolb, James Wuelfing, and Patrick Heffernan listened attentively as traflic regulations were explained. No longer inexperienced freshmen and not yet upperclassmen, the sophomores could claim no more identity than that of being Immacu- latans. Yet in retaining the initial spirit of their Hrst year, the students gave a warm pulsation to Immaculata. The National Educational Development Tests rated each student academically throughout the entire nation and out of the sophomore class iifty-nine students rated above ninety-three percentile. The Class of 1971 was not a complacent one-their determination might be captured in the words of Oliver Wendell Holmes, MTo reach the port of heaven we must sail, sometimes with the wind and some- times against it-but we must sail, not drift or lie at anchor? Associative Representatives Mark Manning, Veronica Ty- senn, Claudia Pascale, Michele Garay, and James Bell anxiously awaited the weekly meeting. 147
