Are we playing fanimal ball' with the seniors today? , 'Wly lock won't open! g HWhere did you say Room 58 is? were all among the muffled cries uttered by some of this year's freshmen. Having to adjust to their new environment, these eager students learned quickly-their's was a year of exploring, making mistakes, learning to laugh about their errors, and trying again. The faculty always willing to listen and offer advice, guided the students through many seeming catastrophies. Carried along by the fast pace of student life these newcomers to Immaculata began their aca- demic schedule with an unprecedented eagerness to learn. They marvelled at new subjects, some- times overwhelmed, but never despairing. Religion I delved into biblical times for a historic view of Catholicism. Algebra I built a foundation of mathematics, and English I offered the students a taste of Shakespeare, Dickinson, and Poe. The freshmen of Immaculata, after a fulfilling year, were prepared academically, spiritually, and so- cially for the challenges of sophomore year. 7 Student Council Members Kevin Murphy and Joan Tozzi visualized responsibilities as potential leaders of the class of 1972. l Katherine Dahms, John Bennett, Richard Sternadori, Carla Sue Perantoni, and Richard Lella pondered over the oncoming duties as Associate Representatives. 139
