Characterized by enthusiasm, precision, En route to Brooks Field for the Dunellen game, Lynne Dombroski and Patricia Lane nobly paraded the school banner. Performing an original dance routine to f'He's Got the Whole World in His Hands, vibrant cheerleaders added zest to the final performance of the season at the Middlesex game. Lynne Dombroski, Diane Klepacki, Barbara Corby, Gail Thomas, Anne Strayer, and Patricia Lane mounted the ladder of success to achieve their goal -the true lmmaculata spirit. and drive, the Varsity and J.V. cheering squads spurred the Spartan teams to their greatest effort. Moderated by Sister Helen Marita, I.H.M., Miss Nancy Geleta, and Miss Hope Salvato, these energetic girls put endless hours of practice into peppy cheers and routines. Led by Co-Captains Patricia Lane and Lynne Dombroski, the senior cheerers kept spirit alive through success and defeat with their acrobatic feats and vocal encouragement. Junior Varsity Basketball An impressive asset to the Athletic Department this year, the Junior Varsity Team came into the spotlight as the most successful of the three Immaculata basketball squads. Un- der the diligent direction of Coach Joseph Poplowski, the Spartan contingent advanced from match to match, improv- ing on both technique and record. The addition of Watchung Hills, Holy Trinity, and Union Catholic to their schedule broadened the squad's competitive experience. Making practical use of emphasized techniques and plays, the men gained the needed momentum to carry through a tough season.
