Freshman Football A firstlthisryear, the Freshman Football Team was a source of great encouragement to the Varsity players. Because those who par- ticipated gained needed experience, the foundations for a tough squad in the near future have been laid. Although the end results did not show it, the freshmen played well and on the whole benefited greatly by learning unique gridiron strategies. Having attained a record of live wins -two losses was certainly a great accomplishment and a sign of things to come for the Varsity. These boys, the best-trained group of players ever on the Spartan line-up, possessed a drive and a will to win, which earned them the 7 record they attained. The coaches hope that this season gives an indication of the 1969 Varsity Team and that the results will be as gratifying. ,, Timmy Murphy snared a toss from Mike Lis- covitz to gain the needed yardage for a first down.
