Classes pass and people change. We see the light in one, while in another it is clouded. There are new Thresholds To be crossed We remember the little things, and in remembering we have difficulty find- ing Words for our thoughts. We remember a mood, as the sun reflected on an open geometry book. We remember snatches of a song we sang in the chaotic peace of the lounge. We remember the elation our successes brought. It's strange how that joy dulled the memory of our failures. We remember the satisfaction that learning brought, and know that learning was not con- fined exclusively to books. We remember our first discovery that behind nameless faces were people. -36
