The title was A Gol- den Night With Daddy in honor of lA'S Golden Anniversary. The decorations included blackboards with old pictures and old newspapers dating back through the school's history. All enjoyed the diversi- fied entertainment and the dancing. Special memo- ries of the affair, in the form of zany pictures of each couple, were taken home thanks to the efforts of Linda Zwick and her father. This year's lucky King and Queen were Laurie Kopec and her father. The award for father who has been coming to this affair for the most consecutive years went to Mr. Hertlein, who has been coming for 13 years. Throughout the school year 1978- 79, the students at Immaculate Acad- emy have enjoyed many fun and mem- orable assemblies. First and foremost in the hearts of our students was our visit from Miss Hickey with her performance of I Remember Mama. She has been enter- taining us with her warmth and extreme dramatic talent since all of us can remember. Another inspiring talk was given by Karen Brady from the Buffalo Evening News. She spoke on womens' place in today's world. A foot stompin', hand clapin' assem- bly swung our way when the Singing Friars from Grandby, Massachusetts entertained us with such numbers as Thank God I'm a Singing Friar and a personal appearance by Brother Love. At times the auditorium served as a theatre for such movies as The Parent Trap which was a gift from the Stu- dent Council and Jane Eyre, given to us from the teachers to close Spirit Week. The masses we attended, which included First Friday's, Initiation of Clubs and Holy Days, were made very special by Father Tony.
