How could we fashion silver beads when our ore was still dull and dirty? It was soon polished, however, by the courses of study we so hungrily pursued. The English class was just filled to the brim with literature-adventuin ous, humorous, inspiring, all types of poems, stories, and essays. Book- keeping and figures confused us somewhat, Latin ll puzzled us also, but with a willing spirit and sincere interest, we succeeded in grasping and understanding all. VVorld History carried us from ancient to medieval, to modern times and made us appreciate fully the civilization and culture of the modern age. Typing and Shorthand loomed threateningly on our horizon, but we managed to conquer them successfully. We waded through more Geometry propositions than we'd like to remember, but it was fun. It was in the Religion class, however, where our beads received a lustrous sheen through constant polishing, for here we learned more thoroughly God's infinite beauty and wisdom. fi CLASS OFFICERS: Theresa Kuczmanski, preszd me Marie Jean Wieleba, vice-presidenvtg Elaine Dablcc f, sec1'etfu'y,- Roberta Bednarz, treasurer. x-W .,'. gb ff Q X A . Zest and excitement were added to our prospecting through var- ious school activities. September brought the first sparkle in the form of Initiation, to be followed shortly by the election of class officers. October saw us busily occupied with the presentation of a very inspiring Mission program. It was we again who added thc silvery touch to Christ- mas, with a lovely little program comprising scvcral choral recitations and joyful carols. Wfhatever drives were sponsored in the Academy, we took an active part in them. As a result, both the Coupon Drive and the Patron Drive saw us in the lead. In the early part of April, aFreshmen debating team was organized, and eagerly, we worked on this new project which was soon crowned with success. Julie found us filled with hope, radiance, and self-confidenccdeach a shiny substance of beauty of which we dreamed for a long year. The silver ore was ours at last! .
