The purpose of the Student Council has been to help promote school activities. They make rules and laws to govern student body functions. They have made various amendments to the constitution this year. The Student Council sponsored the Christmas Formal. The theme of this year's formal was Christmas Around the World. ” The gymnasium was decorated beautifully and appropriate for the occasion. The paper staff has put out a real interesting paper this year. It has covered all activities, sports and miscellaneous items that occur all around school. They put a suggestion box in the hall this year which helps them when students put in new ideas. They have thought up some new articles which helped make a bigger paper. The Pep Club showed a lot of enthusiasm this year. All the girls were real good about wearing their outfits and coming to the games. During the 1963-64 school year the Imbler Chapter of the F.F.A. participated in the State Fair livestock judging contest at Salem, a district soil judging contest at Lostine, a livestock judging contest during the Pea Festival in Milton-Freewater, and in a livestock judging contest at the Union Stock Show. Several boys also attained the Greenhand degree and the Chapter Farmer degree. Sponsored by: Zimmerman’s and the Union County Grange Supply, and LaGrande Paint and Glass. The new members of the Quill Scroll this year were Linda Calhoun, Pat Goshorn, David Hopkins, and Don Starr. After being initiated in the home of their advisor, Mrs. Exley, the members went to the Tropidara and greatly enjoyed the dinner. Mr. Exley and Mr. and Mrs. Price also accompanied them. Mr. Price was made an honorary member of the Quill Scroll last year. The Quill Scroll members published a booklet entitled Reflections of Imbler High School which contained poetry and essays by Imbler students. The team fought hard and showed a lot of pep throughout the season. The games were well attended, and the fans are looking forward to a successful season next year. The starting team did an excellent job this year as they won all their games but one. The Pantherettes showed much enthusiasm and teamwork as they racked up the points. The boys helped the girls keep their pep up by rooting for them at every game. The girls are hoping that there will be some kind of trophy presented this year.
