ALMA MATER Far below our great Blue Mountains 'Neath their heights so true Stands our noble Alma Mater Glorious to view. Lift the chorus, Speed it onward, Loud her praises cry. Hail to thee our Alma Mater, Hail to Irnbler High. .. . f., ': '-' -Q 'K-3 3, . , . 1: ,I . ., AW . K , -.,s:?.,, REMINISCING Through great efforts of the people of the Imbler School District, the present school was built in 1910. After many hours of spirited discussion, they decided to build the school in the village of Imbler, on the site of the old lumber mill, at a cost of nearly S30,000. The first Superintendent was W.V. Conner. In 1925 the citizens of Imbler decided that a new gymnasium was needed. A donation of farm machinery, farm produzts, and livestock for a public auction supplied money for the building. As not enough money was raised at this auction, Mrs. Lucy Wade donated a large sum of money to carry out the building plans. Her only request was that it be named in memory of her brother Walter. Willingly people gave of their time and talent to help build Wade Hall. In 1930 a 32,000 addition was added to the west end of the hall. The first graduation exercises were held in the new school in 1917. Members of the class were, Sylvia Wood, Marvin Lloyu, Melba Tuttle, Fern McKinnis, and Grace German. Some of the present pupils of Imbler Grade School are descendents of that first graduating class.
