The Lettermen started out with only a few returning members. More were added otter the football and basketball season. In order to raise money for athletic equipment, the club took over the management of the pop machine. This was very profitable. A Kangoroo Court was organized to help maintain our equipment and keep the basketball floor in good condition. Back Row: Gwendolyn Ott, Beverly 'Collins, Koy Ruckmon, Anita Doty, Miss Read—Advisor, Larie Patterson, Shirley Hewitt, Shirley Calhoun, Bonita Le Loup. The annual Mother and Daughter banquet in May was the major event of the Girls' League. Money making projects included a cooked food sale in La Grande, candy and popcorn sales, and a progressive dinner party (cocktails at Ott's, salads at Ruckmon's, mam dinner at Kinnel's, show in La Grande and dessert at Miss Read's). The girls served refreshments for several of the boys' games and for the girls' jamborees.

This was accomplished in port by council meetings before the whole student body and several student body activities. Activities: The Imbler Chapter has participated in livestock judging at the Eastern Oregon Livestock Show, the Union County Fair, and the Oregon State Foir. The chapter exhibited livestock at Union and La Grande. Chapter members attended the State F.F.A. Convention at Corvallis. A leadership program wos ottended by the group at Elgin. The chapter ottended the Hereford Sale at La Grande. Darrell Bewley ploced third in the public speaking contest at Lostinc.
