Sixteen tiny sprouts peeped through in September and by January two more come up. The Regular 3 R's plus the following activities made a very interesting and exciting year—A grocery store, Christmas program, valentines, measles, chicken pox, pioneers, Oregon, and picnics. They wrote to some boys and girls in England ond now hove them for their pen pals. Dottie, Terry ond Paul won prizes for perfect scores in arithmetic combinations. The pictured sprouts are: First Row: Butch Bowman, Miquel Livermore, Lorrie Le Loup, Ira Lee Lively, Jerry Newcomb. Second Row: Terry Sawyer, Leland Fries, George McDonald, Paul Siegrist, Dick Royes, Carol Von Derahe. Third Row: Carlene Culver, Tanja Hills, Dottie Coffin. The sprouts are developing tost and their year has been filled with much learning and many interesting projects, such as a science collection, Halloween Party, puppet show, model ranch, spelling contests, cowboy songs, squorc dancing, and studying our majestic universe. The little seeds hove been planted and in the front row you see Kristi Johnson, Linda Calhoun, Bonita Richmond, Lea Anna Profit, Sally Nelson, Lynn Johnston, Charles Schmittle. Bock Row—Joe Austin, Melvin Pointer, David Joe Tuck, Jerry Doud, Russell Bingaman, Wayne Long, David Hopkins, Rollan Hill and Mrs. Blanche Livley, teacher. Paul Royes is pictured separately. One of the big attractions in their room this year was the playhouse. They are very proud of it and have enjoyed it very much. They presented the program in the March grade school assembly. Each had a part in the Christmas program. At the end of the year they toured some of the more interesting places around La Grande. Wm They are still small seeds but are beginning to grow They have learned many new things this year—arith metic combinations—to tell time—to write instead ofgj print—to read better. They have built a miniature farm, a village, a circus, and a grocery store Hearts Tarts was the name of the assembly they presented in February. Mrs. Romani was their teacher until February when Mrs. Revis came to finish out the year. The sprouts have grown into small leaflets, Namely—First Row: Frances Pratt, Steve Livermore, Judy Colhoun, Leonard Lively, Ronnie Hiner, Roddy Campbell. Second Row: Beverly Starr, Arden Collins, Ardell Pugh, LaVerne Brant, David Paroz. Third Row: Tim Johnson, Raymond Hug, Car! Johnson..Standing: Mrs. Dial, Karen Holloway, Louise Hohstadt, Reta Pfefferkorn, Sandra Hardman, Joyce Scott, Doles Craig, David Noyes, Jack Cain. Some of the special activities for the year were: birthday treats, Halloween Party, Christmas Party (gifts), December assembly and Christmas program, Valentine Party, crocheting, woodworking, United States notebooks, exploring Alaska and Canada, watching new plants grow, gals7 party, and end of the year party.
