Julie Greenfield, Munro Cullum, Mark Woolsey, Erin Kelly, and Mickey Bell Worked with Ms. Speelmon and Mrs. Crabb to design graduation announcements and Baccalaureate and Graduation program covers. jami Oatfield was chairman of the Bacca- laureate where Pastor James Braaten spoke. Nancy Campiche organized a Bake Sale, Pat Smith the carnival Haunted House, and an after game dance with julie Greenfield, Bob Ross, and Bill Cuffel in charge were the money raising projects. Char Bailey was chairman of the Home- coming float. The class as a Whole Won the penanent for Spirit Week when their Gong ShoW captured first place. Angela Nascimento was their fast change artist, and Brian Aase the class Charming Charlie. On May 3, forty-seven seniors went to Portland. First stop was O.M.S.I., then roller skating and amusement rides at Oakes park, and topping the day the Bad Company concert at the Collesium. Mrs. Beard and Mr. Gilpin were class advisors. Notorious for their class meetings, the Class of 1978 was lead by Beth Wiegardt, Presidentg Lameece Shawa, Vice Presidentg and Beth Dimond, Secretary. Since the Homecoming theme was Dancin' in the Moonlight , the juniors selected Dancin to a Victory for their float theme which Won first prize for the most original, second prize for the best decorated, and first prize for the funniest. Laurie Carlisle and Robin Doumit read palms and toldfortunes at the Carnival booth. On Greaser Day, Tami Oatfield and Laurie Carlisle took honors as did Donna Calhoun and Lucy Tuft on Heart Day and Alise Finlay and Linda Hilderman on Clown Day. Mike Patterson was the class Charm- ing Charlie for the third time in a row, and the final effort for Spirit Week was the Treasure Hunt skit. He wrote 12 amend- ments to the Student Body Constitution and three resolutions which were reviewed by the Student Council and then sub- mitted to the entire Student Body for a vote. Only three of the amendments failed. jack appointed a Constitutional Review Board, an Athletic Committee, and an Activities Committee. The Student Council sponsored the Magazine Drive and Homecoming. The All-School Carnival was the large November project, but they also organized and served as tour guides for Open House. ln january, they held a big and success- ful spaghetti dinner, and the next day sold food at the concession stand for the Invita- tional Wrestling Tournament. Chief Cook was Debbie Cartwright. At the Regional Wrestling Tournament, the concession booth was operated on Friday by Debbie Cartwright and Alise Finlay. In April, they sponsored a Fashions In The Sun style show under the chairmanship of Leah Prest and assisted by Linda Cartwright and Patricia Tregaskis.
