September 4, 1945 Dear Diary: Today is really another milestone in my life-Vfor I am now a senior in high school. It seems like ages ago, diary, since I started to school, and the thought of ever becoming a senior seemed far away. To tell you the truth, though, school hasnlt been so bad after all em fact, as I look back over these twelve years I wouldnlt trade them for anything in the world. Just to keep my mind clear on dates and important events, diary, I think PM Write doum everything I do at Ilwaco High this year. I filled out my schedule today. It looks as though I am really going to burn some midnight oil this year, because IIm taking quite a few hard subljectsesuch as: Pre-Induction, Latin II, World History, Chemistry and American History. I still hope to turn out for football and basketball if my grades are high enough. I noticed several new teachers-I hope they won,t be too hard on me. Do you think IIll make it, diary? Well, time will tell!
