we . .. ...W The I-SC wrestling team had set some goals at the beginning of the season and accomplished every one of them. They were to have an improved finish in all tournaments, to have four boys called up for state, and to improve their place finish at state. Dennis Heisserer received Most Improved trophy and Mark Clayton received MVP trophy. The 1980-81 football team ended the season as Conference Champions. What a great improvement! Football Homecoming was held on October 24, 1980. Leslie Stubenrauch turned her crown over to Lisa Riley. Mark Zimmerman received the Best Lineman trophy. Scott Little received the Best Back and MVP awards. The baseball team ended the season with a record of 18-2-1 and took I-SC to the State Championship. lt was the first time in four years that they had advanced to state. Scott Little received the Best Hitter and Best Pitcher awards. The basketball team ended the season with a record of 9-16. The B-team trophy winners were: J.V. Freethrow OA, Rocky Henson, J.V. Most Rebounds, Kevin Lacey, Defensive Award, Mike Robert. The A-team trophy winners were: Varsity Freethrow ofa, Varsity Most Rebounds, Most Assists, and Varsity MVP, Scott Little, Defensive Award, Keith Hinkebein. ln track this year, a new school record was set for the 880 relay by Mike Smith, Todd George, Melvin Phillips, and Danny Snider. Most Improved trophy went to Mike Smith. Outstanding Field trophy went to Melvin Phillips. Outstanding Track trophy went to Todd George. I-SC WRES TLER WINS STA TE 62 CHAMPIONSHIP
